I'm Chelon, owner and stylist at Tekniquez Hair Salon. Becoming a hairstylist was always a dream of mine and has definitely become my passion.

I graduated from Richard's Beauty College in 2001 and worked in salons for the next four years. In 2005, when my oldest daughter was born, I founded Tekniquez Hair Salon. Shortly after, I fell in love with CHI's ammonia free colour line and company values, then became a CHI salon.

In 2019 I became a Lash Artist from Fixe Beauty. I enjoy being able to create different looks for each individual to give you that extra little bit of glam to complete your day to day look or make you daily routine easier. I have to say classic lashes are my favorite!
As a hairstylist and educator, I understand the value of education and staying on top of the ever-changing fashion trends. Throughout my career I have worked as an educator for Richard's Beauty College, then seized the opportunity to become a Farouk Systems Educator in 2016; where the learning never ends.

Giving back to the community and helping others in need are important values to me. I searched to use my skill-set to do this, and I found Carmichael Outreach in 2019. I started volunteering once a month, offering free haircuts at their facility, but the need was great. Soon thereafter, I started dedicating two days a month to Carmichael.
More than anything, I enjoy the interactions with clients at Carmichael — because sometimes they truly need someone to talk with more than a haircut. It's fulfilling knowing that I made their day a little bit easier or a little bit brighter.
Becoming a Farouk Systems Educator has been an amazing opportunity. I enjoy being able to share my love for education and learning with other stylists who are also passionate about the industry. As an educator, I've had the privilege to travel and participate in hair shows, visit numerous salons to educate stylists, and work in distributor storefronts showing off different tools, products and techniques. Working with so many other talented stylists has taught me so much.
